Well first, you might need some software to be able to use the Xbox Controller on your PC.

I'd link you but I'm lazy.

Then you go to controls, and when it says the button for A, you hit the button the 360 controller to assign it.

Playing N64 games with 360 controller = awesome.

And I think you need a wired controller. You need the usb from it.

You need the actual wired 360 controller I think.

As long as the computer recognises the USB-controller, go into your control panel and check your gamepad devices to check if it works. When you see shit moving as you move the thumbstick on your controller and shit, you're good to go.

Then open up your gameboy emulator and put in specifics for gamepad/joystick/whatever the equivalent would be called and just set up the controls and then you should be good to go.

Dom is correct. You need the actual wired 360 controller. The cord that attaches to your controller seems like it would work but all it does is charge your battery, that's it. You could also buy the PC adapter from MS, it is pretty expensive but there are copies on eBay that run for $10 to $20.

IMO, I would pass on the 360 controller and just get a Xbox S controller or PS2, the 360's dpad is horrible.

Well yes what Kana said.

Some older operating systems, such as XP, need drivers.

Hell, some don't.

Mine did since it's a "special" version of XP (I own legit copies so its k, just didn't feel like installing via disk).

XP will recognize it and install the drivers automatically if you're connected to the internet. There is an adapter to make wireless controllers work, but you can't buy it separately, it only comes with a controller.

You know...the keyboard is pretty good for GBA, there are only 4 buttons, it wouldn't matter that much unless if you're playing like Megaman Zero, but then again in the past I played perfectly on KB on SNES.

I just use a PS2 controller with a USB adapter I got at Radio Shack for $10. The only situation where a 360 controller would have an advantage is on games that were ported to PC from consoles such as Bioshock.
