There are robot prostitutes in Fallout: New Vegas. If this news had been revealed any other way, it would only have been mildly amusing, but because it was revealed by the ESRB's description of the game's content, it's extremely amusing. We know it didn't go down this way, but all we can imagine is a thin-lipped, snarling woman with Betty White hair dictating to a typist in a drier-than-Death-Valley voice, "There is also an extended sequence suggesting sexual activity with a robot."
We're sorry to say that the ESRB also notes that there's no direct depiction of the act. Instead, the screen fades to black and "suggestive dialog is heard in the background." What kind of suggestive dialog, you ask? Here are a few examples: "Fisto reporting for duty . . . Please assume the position," "I suppose I should test you out . . . Servos active!" and "Something wrong with someone if they got to f**k a machine."

Oh Fisto, you're just the living end. The ESRB's summary also contains descriptions of other scenes, so don't read it if you're uptight about spoilers. Oh yeah, the game's out October 19th in North America and October 22nd in Europe blah blah robot sex.

Some developers prefer to use veteran voice actors, such as Nolan North and John DiMaggio, who can customize their vocal delivery for almost any character. However, there has been a trend recently to use more famous voices in games, such as Martin Sheen and Seth Green's appearances in Mass Effect 2. Bethesda Softworks is going down the latter route, today announcing a host of well-known voices for the forthcoming post-nuclear role-playing game Fallout: New Vegas.

The main radio station DJ will be voiced by Wayne Newton, whose 30,000 live shows in the Nevada desert over the years have earned him the nickname Mr. Las Vegas. Singer and actor Kris Kristofferson (Blade), will lend his gravelly baritone--last heard in game form in Neversoft's Western shooter Gun--to the grizzled soldier Chief Hanlon.

Also joining the cast of the post-nuclear role-playing game is, of all people, former Friends star Matthew Perry, who will play a double-dealing gangster in his first game role. Brawny action star Danny Trejo (Heat, the forthcoming Machete), will voice the playable companion Raul the Ghoul, an ex-gunslinger and mechanic. The Guild star Felicia Day will play a bookish Brotherhood of Steel companion, and Zach Levi, the lead on NBC's Chuck, will voice another companion from the Followers of the Apocalypse.

Fans of the Fallout series will excited to hear Star Trek: The Next Generation star Michael Dorn will return to the series as Marcus, the super intelligent super mutant from Fallout 2. Dorn also co-starred on Star Trek: Deep Space Nine with Rene Auberjonois, who will appear in the game as a mysterious recluse called Mr. House.

Some veteran character actors have also been enlisted Fallout: New Vegas' minor roles. John Doman, best-known for his portrayal of the scheming and bullying police commander on HBO's The Wire, will play the powerful dictator of the Caesar's Legion faction. William Sadler (The Pacific, Die Hard 2) will play an amicable robot with a cowboy personality.

Last but certainly not least, Ron Perlman, who will soon be returning to TV screens in Sons of Anarchy, will reprise his role as the game's narrator. Bethesda also promised "even more celebrity cameos" in the game.
